I was offered a contract to write a short story for the Mammoth Book of Scottish Romance, a collection of twenty-four Scottish-set stories by today’s most talented romance authors. My short story, After the Gloaming, will be included in the anthology along with stories by Elle Jasper, Cindy Miles, Kimberly Killion, and Annette Blair.
After the Gloaming is paranormal romance set at Caerlaverock Castle, near Dumfries. After a tragic turn of events, Deidre Monreith is cursed to live eternity as a banshee - unless she can find the one man capable of gaining her trust and breaking the wretched curse.
The Mammoth Book of Scottish Romance is due in stores on January 4, 2011! You can purchase it at your local Barnes and Noble or Borders or online at Amazon.com. Buy your copy, email me a photo of you holding it in your favorite place to read, and I will send you a special bookmark autographed by three of the authors featured in the Scottish Book of Romance!
Articles:
A Walk in the Moss – 500 word article about the beauty of Spanish Moss.
Status: Accepted on spec by GEORGIA magazine.
Opening: I went for a walk today down a secluded trail lined with towering Oaks and Magnolia trees dripping Spanish Moss. It was early in the morning and the sun was still partially nestled beneath the horizon. Its golden rays seemed to be stretching awake, gently punching through the canopy of waxy green leaves.
Woman Can Live By Pastry Alone - A 2,200 word article about the world’s finest pastries.
Status: Submitted to Saveur, Gourmet and several cuisine magazines.
Opening: I am what many people would call a picky eater. I hate mushrooms, seafood, bleu cheese, grapefruit, asparagus, raw tomatoes, venison, avocados, and a myriad of other foods; and yet I love pastries of all shapes, sizes, and nationalities. I have never met a pastry I didn’t like.
Blogs:
Lost in Love’s Labyrinth – I am busy editing past articles and creating all sorts of new content for this titillating new blog! Be sure to look for Tuesday’s Titillating Trinkets and Treasure, a weekly column featuring an interesting and oftentimes forgotten 18th century artifact or curiosity.
On Life, Love and Accidental Adventures – New posts this month will include: Sensuous and Scintillating Beach Reads, We All Scream for Ice Cream, and Musings on the Marais: My favorite place in Paris.
